The Divine Inspiration Outreach, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organized to offer programs that benefit people in need.

The mission of the Divine Inspiration Outreach, INC 501©3 is to serve the public as a trusted partner and steward, dedicated to advancing self-sufficiency to homeless single women and equity, expanding coverage, and improving self-sufficiency outcomes. DIO clients are at the core of this mission, and to support and ensure that they can achieve their highest level of self-sufficiency and that we address inconsistencies in their experiences at DIO, as well as inequitable access to opportunities.

Divine Inspiration Outreach Inc. serves as a vital bridge for homeless single women, offering a structured program to aid them in achieving self-sufficiency. Providing a supportive environment and addressing underlying issues like trauma and employment empowers residents to rebuild their lives and secure permanent housing. The emphasis on employment and savings underscores the program’s commitment to fostering long-term stability.

As Executive Director, called by God to organize a program and cadre of
superior God-loving volunteers to implement a plan for homeless single
women to achieve self-sufficiency. I support the core values of the Burfoot House
The mission of the organization drives me.

Full-time volunteer responsible for the oversight and administration of the Burfoot House Program for ten homeless single women. CEO of Divine Inspiration Outreach, Inc. Board of  Directors and reports monthly to BOD. Manages budget, files bill/s for payment, writes grants, organizes fundraising events, and is the primary contact with media. Primary Burfoot House contact with Centerville Baptist Church leadership. Primary Burfoot House contact with partner organizations: Chesapeake Regional Hospital Transitional Care Program, Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Health, The Planning Council, SVHC-Southeastern Virginia Homeless Coalition (3 VP), City of Chesapeake Human Services. Direct Supervisor for: Resident Assistant, Case Manager, and Assistant Director. Potential client intake assessments (shared with Assistant Director). Possible client interviews (shared with Assistant Director). Coordinates Christian Base classes/teacher assignments, as well as certification opportunities.

I am a progressive thinker who serves the Chesapeake community as CEO of Divine Inspiration Outreach, Inc. non-profit organization and Burfoot House Homeless Shelter for single women, and a champion of organizations committed to innovation, change, and solutions to the lives of those in need.
